Ian Ayris – The Voices in my head
Ian Ayris – The Voices in my Head
Titled with his book the header is covered with Ian’s book, Abide with me. A bit misleading as I thought it was ‘The voices in my head’, but never mind. Blogger, to me, isn’t the most versatile of structures, but most certainly the most robust I presume. The menu bar is pretty in its turquoise colour, the ribbon just carries on either side and I don’t get a sense of proportion or frame to this site. It’s like the guts have been ripped out and pulled down. The left bar trails a list of links to other work.
Don’t get me wrong the site gets the point across and we can navigate to those places with relative ease. With the type of work I think you write you should have a gritty, grunge background to this blog. The colours don’t clash and they’re appealing, so well done on the choice of colour.
The list of publications you’ve got up could be sized down slightly so you could put two or three on a row. At the moment we’re scrolling down the site and it’s like a marathon to get down it. Present all your work on a couple of scrolls of the Mouse 3 Button rather than several taps of the Pg Dn button.
By the way, your header/advert rocks. Where did you get it done?

Hi hun… just wondering if you could include a link to blogs when you review… I know you have a sketch shot at bottom but sometimes I would like to go check out the blogs…xxx Rosie
